After 10 weeks, the small but hardworking Cohort 23 presented their very special graduation performance.
The evening begun with the incredible Etched, made by Carrie Whitaker (Lila Dance), who we were delighted to welcome as our guest choreographer this cohort. Carrie created this piece with the dance students at Chichester University and then our young people learnt it in just 5 days.
Our second piece Across The Board, was made as part of the “collaborative choreography” element of the programme where young people learn how to develop and structure their own choreography. Working with our dance artist, Emma Hill, they created this piece in just 5 days.
The final piece of the night was Prana and was created by our lead Dance Artist Hannah Martin-Reilly and Laila Diallo on Company Wessex, our graduate company who have been working with us since the beginning of this year. The cohort first performed this piece on 23rd May after just 3 weeks working together.

What an amazing place…so much more than just dancing – a second chance to find confidence, friends, trust and to just feel welcome. And the dancing is fantastic.Member of the audience
