This graduation celebrated the hard work, commitment and energy that the brave and special company of dancers had created over ten weeks. It featured three inspiring performances and for the first time a typical day at the Wessex Dance Academy.
The first piece A Fleeting Moment, was choreographed by Emma Waller especially for our young people to develop their dance skills
The second piece, Juego, featured the now famous Wessex Boys, who we are very proud of.
We then shared with you, for the first time ever, moments of the “schools project”. This project happens in weeks 5 and 6, when the young people learn how to teach a dance workshop before going into a local primary school to deliver an hour long lesson
The evening concluded with Rewritten Pages, first performed on 12th February at The Lights after the young people had been together for only 3 weeks. Rewritten Pages is a reworking of the award winning Unwritten Pages.
This cohort also performed alongside the dance students from Winchester University at the Great Hall. The Rite of Spring was an additional part of the young people’s journey with Wessex Dance Academy and a fitting conclusion to this exciting cohort.
