Saffron completed Cohort 15 and was invited to join the company. Saffron went on to be a Role Model for Cohort 16 and 17 where she completed Hampshire County Council’s Traineeship Programme. We are hoping that Saffron will begin her Apprenticeship at the Academy in April this year.
WESSEX GIRLS : WESSEX BOYS
Our performance company Wessex Girls : Wessex Boys is an opportunity for our Graduates to continue dancing and to develop their dance and performance skills. Young people are invited to join the company if they show extraordinary talent and dedication during their time at the Academy. They are joined by a selected few from the University of Winchester (UoW) and on occasions local schools.
It is not our intention to make dancers out of the young people who attend the Academy, it has and does happen so Wessex Girls : Wessex Boys provides a great next step for them as they begin to dance in new environments, which for many is studying dance at college.
Wessex Girls : Wessex Boys always open the show for every cohort, both at their three week performance and their graduation performance.
