Cohort 05 worked hard together for 12 weeks to present their amazing graduation performance.
During the evening there were four very different but equally inspiring pieces of contemporary dance. The first piece was Beyond, choreographed especially to help our young people develop their dance technique skills.
The second performance, In Two was by Wessex Boys and Wessex Girls, the Academy’s own Performance Company.
The third performance, Revival, was a particularly special piece which was choreographed by the young people themselves, showcasing not only their talents as dancers but also their ability to create a completely new piece of choreography.
The evening concluded with Inbetween, which was the first piece of choreography learnt by the young people, in just three weeks, and first performed on 21st May at the Berry Theatre.
Wessex Dance Academy would like to thank the steering group, A2 Dominion Housing, Sarah Lawson, Kingsworthy Primary School and the Linbury Trust for their kind support.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our very dear friend Joan Ferrer and to all our fabulous volunteers for their continued kindness, support and time.
